5 Reasons Why Social Media Is Draining You

Its crsytal clear that most of our time is spent behind a screen. Social Media use is the order of the day and although it's harmful to anyone either introvert or extrovert, there's some truthful evidence that it's excessive use increases risks of depression or anxiety.
Personally, social media has given a voice to everyone, however the following are reasons why it's draining you.

1.Feeling Pressure To Be Perfect For Social Media
Many a times we scroll for hours either in Instagram and Facebook just admiring and pleased to see how celebrities and media personalities are living their dream life. In real life that mayn't be the cause but to some people are pressured to have same life thus living or spending not within their means ending up living a fake life.

2.Obsessed Over Likes And Mass Followers
This is a disaster that is really affecting most users and has led to people thinking that mass following matters. Many have blocked and deleted their social media accounts due to less likes and thinking that they aren't of standards to be in the social media. By time, this makes most people depressed thinking that their lives MUST be associated in the media which is fairly wrong.

3.Spending Majority Of The Day On Social Media Platforms
Personally, have witnessed this among the youths whereby TikTok, Instagram and Facebook among others are now a priority in their phones. Although, most of the times we get entertained, educated, informed and updated on most events but all this has immensely affect our daily life such that individuals avoid working, neglecting paramount duties and even negatively affecting our social life with others.

4.Checking Social Media Multiple Times A Day
At some point in life, we always want to be updated on daily events to an extent of having the fear of missing out.(fomo) This has even led to people being anxious every time they look their phones since they think that they are missing out on daily gossips, entertainment and politics. This might be affecting you negatively.

5.Comparison Between Yourself And Others
To be honest, sometimes you find yourself in comparison with your favorite socialite, celebrity, public figures and mentors among different medias. This may be inspiring people positively but we tend to go to an extent of direct comparison of what we see on their feeds and posts. How they dress, what they drive and places they visit make some individuals to do the same but in real life you can't afford those designer clothes, bags, cars and other valuables. Honestly, no need for comparison live within your means.
